Comment on “Bodenstown Address” September 2013. Irish Republican Comrades Association. by Liam Lynch

It is a shame that what started as a fairly good discussion degenerated into a mishmash of allegation, accusation and dialogue which I believe, coming from supporters of the ORM, does nothing but give credence to assertions from others that we in the ORM are nothing less than mindless morons, corner boys and thugs.
Lets not detract from the original thread of the discussion and clarify some points.
A small number of the leadership of the ORM had been for a long period been engaged in the systematic dismantling of the organisation through the expelling of members who did not fit in with their future plans of political and economic ambition. The transformation to the Irish Republican Comrades Association was a closely guarded secret until the latter stages of the Easter address 2013, undeniably devious and immorally unscrupulous, but not surprising considering who was behind it.
We in the ORM have not given up on our socialist republicanism as the irca have and we must not lower ourselves to their level of slur tactics, rather we must hold our heads high and remember who we represent.
For the benefit of Political Tourist, An Eochair was founded by OIRA prisoners in Long Kesh in the mid 70′s as a prison news sheet. The name was adopted in the 90′s for what was supposed to be an Ex-prisoners Support group. Few if any ex-OIRA prisoners benefited in any way from this group as opposed to the ex-loyalist ( UDA/UVF ) prisoners. But then that I believe is why it is easier to get state funding, when it involves cross community !
