Well, if people getting shot dead in local pubs is gentrification than I’m sure Cabra is practically the same as Castleknock. (Reminds me of David McWilliam’s claim that Cabra was known as ‘Fabra’ in the Gay community because so many Gay people had moved there. For the last two weeks I’ve been passing a house with ‘Faggot’ sprayed on the side of it.) Not to say that Cabra hasn’t changed a lot in 20 years, or that it is very rough, but anti-social activity would still be a big worry for people living there.
Cieran Perry is running, as I presume is the sitting SF councillor.
