an office of the state is bugged, rather than the state showing signs of concern for the office itself (one of its offices) or wider implications, cases, etc it wonders why the minister wasn’t told of concerns that it may be bugged prior to an investigation or why they went to england. Stinks of deflection. That commisioner did the right thing, he will probably be made walk for it. The way gardai are put on a pedestal and tip toed around in this state is sickening. never sure if its fear or naivety.
GSOC investigates gardai misconduct, why would criminals care, so they could find out 24 hours earlier that their ‘complaint was not valid’. maybe it was the media but it would be a very big jump in the level of investigative journalism we are used to in this place come on like.
