That’s really interesting. I have been buying into the positive stats the government has been producing, but I had to be converted – I was a skeptic initially.
One thing that I was curious about: since The Gathering was really aimed at Americans I was wondering if the ‘returnees’ were skewed to the west seeing as most Americans have western and not eastern roots.
The Gathering was a huge success in terms of PR in America. Amazing how many mentions it got in the regional/local press, even outside the NE, where the Irish proportion of the population is heaviest.
