I think there’s a genuine point about the potential being over egged, it was also put to me that the apparent success of the household charge campaign came as a surprise and this meant that expectations were too high going into the LPT phase which once revenue came in was effectively over and with no clear exit strategy. There may be some truth there.
But I’d really hope that few went in seriously thinking the CAHWT would/could lead to a new workers party. That would be the work of decades… Perhaps longer, if it ever happened at all.
