Im in agreement with you about the fight against water charges a lot of it will be down to the upcoming water services legislation; for example if Irish water were to be given powers to deduct from source it would be a more difficult campaign to fight and win; but in the event they dont,t have powers to deduct from source I think it would be a more manageable campaign to fight, I remember the previous anti water charges campaign I recall times water was disconnected on non payers only to be reconnected same will apply again if water is to be disconnected, I concur with your point standing election candidates is distracting from the fight against water meter installations at this point water meters will be installed next month followed by a national roll out in september, in my view each CAHWT group in each county should start holding local meetings to try build local groups in the task of building local neighbourhood watch groups to help fight and prevent installation of water meters in as many areas as possible.
