And delusional. I would imagine his reasoning behind the Wall Street refit went something like, “I’m trying to bring the thrusting adventurous spirit of the Private Sector to the moribund Public Sector. So for starters I’d better get an office that looks like something out of the Private Sector, the rich part of it which I couldn’t afford myself but which the taxpayer is well able to afford on my behalf.” Result.
It is like Fitzpatrick. And also like Shatter. At least when some American preacher is caught on top of a hooker in a motel room it tends to halt his gallop for a while. Our preachers tend to carry on as though their private actions and public statements are in no sense connected. They’re as infinitely forgiving of themselves as they are stern towards others.
