Speaking of small firms, it was very noticeable in the area how many factories there were, far higher density than one would get in rural Ireland which is pretty much devoid of factories expect in bigger towns, if even these days. It pointed to a greater investment in manufacturing by the local capitalist class, by SMEs, rather than the retail and services mix that we have here.
